ABOUT MATERIAL CARE

Top grain leather

The main feature of top grain leather is the smooth surface of the specially-treated top layer. Top grain leather can have a glossy or matte finish. This type of leather is very durable and can serve the user well for a long time with correct care. It is worth mentioning that it is also relatively easy to care for.

Care instructions:

Before you polish the shoe, ensure all dirt and dust has been removed and use warm water to remove the old layer of polish. Cleaning should be carried out using a damp cloth or brush or use ZRO Killotus Nahka Cream

In addition, you may choose to use a shoe shampoo which conditions the leather in addition to cleaning it. Once your footwear has been cleaned and dried, clear or matching polish should be applied evenly to the surface. When the layer of polish is dry, you may wish to buff the shoe with a clean dry cloth or soft brush.

Nubuck and suede leather

Nubuck or suede  leathers are leathers that do not have a smooth top grain. Their surface is covered in soft, thick, velvety fibres that vary in length from shorter (nubuck) to longer (velour, suede). The fibres’ direction can be easily rearranged by brushing the surface with your hand. Nubuck has a texture that feels like peach skin to the touch, while suede may be better compared to a soft toy. These leathers are absorptive, breathable and very hygienic.

Care instructions:

Rough leather footwear requires frequent cleaning and careful maintenance.
The cleaning process should begin with removing dirt using a special rubber brush, followed by a nylon and copper brush. To remove heavy soiling or stains, you may use the ZRO Cleansing Essence which is effective in removing dirt without damaging the leather.

Polishes or creams should not be used with this type of footwear.

This is a type of semi matte or glossy finish leather where the grain surface has been buffed and a decorative pattern added. This type of leather is resistant to soiling and damage.

SHOE CARE

We recommend using cedar shoe trees to help prevent the leather on your shoes from drying out. Shoe trees also help diminish creasing on the top of your shoes caused by walking

Towel dry any water that you can right away. Then stuff the inside of your shoes with newspaper or a towel to pull the moisture from the inside. Let your ZRO dry slowly at room temperature. Follow up with leather cleaner and conditioner once dry.

Use a soft-bristled brush or cotton cloth to wipe away dirt and scuffs. Apply a leather cleaner such as ZRO Killotus Nahka Creamfor smooth leathers. For suede and nubuck leathers use soft cloth Cleaner and a nubuck brush.

We suggest using ZRO Killotus Nahka Cream for a matte finish on our smooth leather. Apply polish evenly using a cotton or flannel polishing cloth and allow to air dry. Remove any excess polish with a horsehair shoe brush.

For increased longevity, apply rubber sole savers.
